What does it mean to nourish both people and planet in the context of climate change, rising inequality, and poor-quality diets? Drawing on examples from inspiring organisations working across the Global South and North, Shruti Patel highlights promising, context-specific approaches while underscoring the limitations of one-size-fits-all solutions. She invites critical reflection on the trade-offs, power dynamics, and participatory processes essential to shaping fair and sustainable food futures.
Shruti Patel is senior lecturer at ETH NADEL. She teaches nutrition security, storytelling and behaviour change, her background are agricultural economics and development studies. She worked in international development cooperation projects in many countries, also in Kenya where she comes from.
